This Limited Edition, also known as the “MLE”, is destined for Malaysia, but it is only a derivative of the LP 550-2. This version is available in white, green or orange, and is equipped with a Superleggera LP 570-4 body kit, bumper, diffusers and plenty of carbon. The interior is once again a marriage of leather and alcantara, and the model is equipped with a 6-speed E-gear gearbox. As in China, imported vehicles are taxed at 50%, resulting in an eye-watering price tag.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Nera opts for a black exterior colour that combines gloss black Nero Serapis (for the bodywork in general) and matt black Nero Noctis (for the rear-view mirrors, spoiler, roof, upper part of the rear wings, side panels of the bonnet, etc.). This Gallardo Nera is darker than ever (as are the rear headlamps). Inside, this special Nera series features Exclusive Leather Package II upholstery in two-tone black and white. The entire cabin plays on these two contradictory colours… However, the above colours are the base colours: the Nera can be fully customised by its owner, and Lamborghini can offer all possible colours to buyers. In terms of standard equipment, the Lamborghini Gallardo Nera includes a GPS navigation system and a rear-view camera. Optional equipment for the model includes E-gear automated transmission, a transparent glass panel to cover the engine while leaving it visible from the outside, a Bluetooth-compatible radio and carbon ceramic brakes.

This Special Edition of the LP 560-4 is destined for Hong Kong and the Chinese market. It is distinguished by its two-tone silver/slate or silver/midnight blue paintwork. The interior is a blend of black leather and dark grey alcantara. Special 19″ wheels and a 6-speed E-gear gearbox are just some of the features of this model. As for the exorbitant price, this can be explained by the fact that foreign vehicles are taxed at around 50%…

In December 2004, Lamborghini presented two Gallardos to the Italian police force in honour of its 152nd anniversary. The Gallardo are used by the traffic police (Polizia Stradale) in emergencies and alarms on the Salerno – Reggio motorway and for transporting organs for transplant. Painted blue and white like the other Italian police vehicles, they are also equipped with a rotating beacon and siren, first aid equipment including an electrocardiogram, a resuscitation kit and a refrigerated box. Gallardos were also temporarily ‘loaned’ to the British police in London, this time in the typical blue and yellow chequered pattern of the British police. In 2008, these Gallardos were retired, replaced by two LP 560-4s…

To recognise the SE, all you need to do is spot the biton bodywork. There are 6 options: two types of grey, white, yellow (as shown in the photos), orange or green. The roof, bonnet, spoilers and two rear-view mirrors are painted black to make them stand out from the rest of the bodywork. The brake callipers offer a finishing touch in yellow or grey, depending on the customer’s taste. This two-tone hue is also found in the cockpit. Giving it a definite personality. But the SE isn’t just a new look, it’s also sportier. It has a reversing camera and a multimedia screen. For a more muscular drive, the engineers have fitted it with a sports suspension combined with top-of-the-range P Zero Corsa tyres developed by Pirelli. Lamborghini claims that the car is more dynamic thanks to shorter gear ratios in the first five gears.

This limited version of the Gallardo LP 550-2 is supposed to celebrate 10 years of presence in Singapore, but Lamborghini will use any excuse to launch a new Limited Edition! Available in black or white, the vehicle features red side stripes and the Merlion logo (The Merlion is a lion-headed, fish-bodied statue located in Singapore. It was created in 1964 by Fraser Brunner for the Singapore Tourism Board, and was the official emblem of the city until 1997. Like the MLE, this version incorporates elements from the Superlegerra, including front fascias and diffusers.

Lamborghini is taking a leaf out of Porsche’s book. The Gallardo variants will soon be as numerous as the 911 versions. This time, the Spyder is available with two-wheel drive for the first time. The Sant’Agatha bull is continuing in the same vein, offering the Spyder in a new version that, like the Balboni, is characterised by the abandonment of four-wheel drive. The LP 550-2 may not be named after the famous test driver, but it owes everything to the eponymous version. The 550-2 Spyder, which despite its 550 bhp has become a simple rear-wheel drive car, recaptures some of the ‘Hooligan’ spirit that is part of the brand’s history. However, the car has still been carefully tuned. The shock absorber settings have been modified to take account of changes in weight distribution. Finally, the car is fitted with a limited-slip differential set at 45%. All in all, it’s a great performer, even with the ESP in place.

Like the coupé, the Gallardo LP 560 Spyder adopts the aggressive styling introduced by the Reventon, but the extra 40bhp and modified suspension and gearbox make this LP 560-4 particularly enticing. Inside, the rigour of Audi’s parent company is again evident. This wind-in-the-hair version allows you to take full advantage of the masterful sound of the V10. At the end of 2012, this version was upgraded and distinguished from its predecessor by revised front and rear fascias. These feature triangular shapes in keeping with the brand’s latest aesthetic canons. Technically, nothing has changed on the 2013 model.

Since its launch in 2005, the Gallardo has been available in countless variants. It’s hardly surprising, then, that the Los Angeles show marks the appearance of a new variant: the LP570-4 Spyder Performante. This version follows the recipe of the Superleggera presented at the last Geneva Motor Show, but this time under open skies. To lighten the beast, the engineers at the Bull have turned to carbon. The door panels, seats and soft-top cover all feature this material. This variant also takes care with its aerodynamics, adopting an imposing carbon rear spoiler and a generous extractor. The chassis has not been forgotten either, with carbon-ceramic brakes as standard and revised suspension settings.
